CLINTON, S.C. — Laurens County Coroner’s Office officials confirmed a Clinton, S.C. pedestrian died at a Greenville hospital after a vehicle strike on South Broad Street Monday evening.

Jennifer Ramirez, 37, lived in Clinton. The crash happened near Pinehurst Drive shortly before 8 p.m. Monday. Medics carried her to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, and she died from her injuries roughly an hour later.

Coroner staff said they were summoned to the hospital after her death. They also said the family was not reached until three days later.

Clinton Police Department officers and the coroner’s office continue to review what happened. Authorities have not named a driver or announced charges.
