GREER, S.C. — Greer High School was shut out 48-0 by Gaffney on Friday night in Week 8 of the 2026 SCHSL football season, according to final scores reported across Upstate scoreboards.

The Yellow Jackets dropped the region matchup as Gaffney rolled to a 48-0 win. Finals from statewide score pages listed the result alongside other Friday night games across Greenville and Spartanburg counties.

Other Greer-area results were brighter. Riverside beat Wade Hampton 31-8, and Blue Ridge rolled past Broome 40-6, giving two nearby schools solid Week 8 wins.

Across the broader Upstate slate, Fountain Inn edged Greenwood 21-14, Chesnee beat Clinton 36-20, and Fort Mill topped Spartanburg 31-7. Those scores appeared on the same Week 8 boards that carried the Greer result.

Week 8 wrapped a full Friday of SCHSL play as teams jockey for region standing heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Greer will look to rebound in its next scheduled contest after the shutout loss.

Independent score roundups from Friday night listed the same Gaffney 48, Greer 0 final, along with the Riverside and Blue Ridge wins that rounded out the local Week 8 picture for Greer fans.
