GREER, S.C. — The Greer Commission of Public Works will host its annual Lake Robinson Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Robinson (2544 Mays Bridge Rd.) in Greer, S.C.
The free event aims to educate the public about the importance of the city natural resources, including where Greer CPW drinking water begins. This is the fifth annual Lake Robinson Day run by Greer CPW.
Activities will include bounce houses and obstacle courses for children, along with kayaking on a first-come, first-served basis. The day will also feature lunch, outdoor yoga, more than 25 exhibitors, tree giveaways, a rain barrel workshop and a blood drive.
The rain barrel workshop is the only cost associated with the event and will be run through the Watershed Ecology Center. All food waste will be composted to cut the amount of trash going to the landfill.
Attendees are encouraged to bring food and household items for Greer Relief, an agency providing rent, utility, food, and household supply assistance to neighbors in need. The wish list includes pasta, canned fruit, canned beans, peanut butter, toilet paper and toothpaste.
