Greer, S.C. — Samuel Edgar Stephens, a 35-year-old Greer man, has been arrested for third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the Office of the Attorney General said.
Stephens was arrested on October 7, 2026. Each count of sexual exploitation of a minor is a felony charge, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Investigators received CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led them to Stephens. Investigators found that Stephens possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
In an unrelated case, Michael Steven Winiecki, 28, of Williamston was arrested on October 8, 2026, on nine counts of second-degree and one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office investigation. The two men face 11 total charges.
The Office of the Attorney General will prosecute both cases. The arrests are the latest in a string of Upstate cases worked by the statewide task force, which includes local sheriff offices and state investigators.
