NEW YORK — The NBA is giving fans new ways to find and follow live games this season, unveiling a set of app features and social media links on Monday ahead of opening night.
The headline addition is Game Pulse, a live feed inside the NBA App that blends a court visualization with highlights, milestones and advanced numbers such as shot charts and player stats broken out by quarter. Each feed opens with an AI-written summary meant to tell fans what to watch for, not just the score.
The league is also launching AskNBA, an artificial intelligence assistant that answers questions about games, players and trends using official league data and new in-game advanced stats. Video highlights are being built into the tool.
A new tracking-based package adds measures such as Handle Score, which rates how well and how creatively players dribble on each move, along with a model showing how often teams play zone defense and how well it works. A feature called NBA Blueprint will generate reports before and after every game.
The league is widening its Tap to Watch program, which sends fans straight from content to a live broadcast. The links will show up on every TikTok post that mentions the NBA hashtag and on clips from hundreds of creators cleared to use game highlights. A custom NBA timeline on X will pair scores and highlights with where to watch, and Google search results will again carry the links.
Fans can add the full schedule to their digital calendars at nba.com/calendar, and the app will stream pregame warmups free from arenas around the league.
