GREER, S.C. — Greer’s two public high schools square off on the football field next week, with the Greer High Yellow Jackets set to visit the Riverside Warriors for a region game on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
Greer comes in on a roll. The Yellow Jackets routed Travelers Rest 44-7 at home on Oct. 23 for their second straight win, a week after a 48-7 victory at Wade Hampton. That leaves Greer at 5-4 overall and 2-2 in region games, with its only league losses coming against Greenville and Gaffney.
Riverside is headed the other way after a 48-0 loss at Gaffney in Week 10. The Warriors sit at 3-6, but they are also 2-2 in the region thanks to a 41-21 win at Travelers Rest and a 31-8 home win over Wade Hampton.
Riverside draws from the fast-growing Pelham Road side of town, while Greer High serves neighborhoods closer to downtown. Greer High is classified in SCHSL Class AAAA for the 2026-2028 cycle.
