CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College in Clinton closes its home volleyball schedule this weekend, welcoming USC Upstate on Friday night and UNC Asheville for a Senior Day matinee on Saturday.
First serve against the Spartans is 6 p.m. Friday at the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose are 8-17 on the year with a 2-9 Big South ledger after straight-set road losses at High Point and Radford.
Saturday tip is 2 p.m. PC will recognize an eight-player senior class before facing the Bulldogs, including setter Anisa Dorlouis, middle blocker Meredith Reisman, libero Celimar Hoyos, Courtney Williams, Julia Yurkovich, Brittney Daphnis, Amaris Alvarez and Ashley Miller.
Upstate arrives with a matching league mark of 2-9 and a 9-13 overall record. The Spartans just edged Gardner-Webb in five sets at home, and Summer Kohler averages 3.45 kills each set. Upstate’s travel note also puts first serve at 6 p.m. Friday in Clinton.
On Oct. 10 in Spartanburg, Presbyterian needed four sets to beat the Spartans after earlier losses. Upstate still leads the series history 10 wins to 7.
Reisman has reached 100 blocks and tops the league in solo stuffs with 17. She matched the program’s Division I single-match block mark with 10 against Upstate earlier this fall. Dorlouis owns three triple-doubles, sits third in assists per set, and passed 1,000 career assists at PC on Sept. 8.
Hoyos has 390 digs, second in the Big South. As a group, the Blue Hose share the conference lead in blocks per set at 2.26. UNC Asheville is 16-11 and 4-7 in league play after a four-set win over PC in Asheville earlier this year.
Clinton’s last regular-season date is Nov. 23 on the road at Charleston Southern.
