GREER, S.C. — Readers can meet roughly 30 writers and browse about 180 titles Saturday, Oct. 17, when the free Fall Book Festival takes over the Randall House in downtown Greer, running 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
A writing group based in the city puts on the festival. The house sits at 215 Randall St., and readers pay nothing to get in. Authors will sell and sign their books and talk with visitors about their work.
The lineup mixes local and out-of-state writers from five states, covering upward of 25 genres. Food and drink will include small pancakes from Pancake Paradise and an alcohol-free drink bar from Sippin’ Ain’t Easy.
A digital Passport to Reading game runs through the day. Each author hands out a code, and every code a reader collects adds an entry in a drawing for boxes of books the authors donated.
This will be the group’s final festival at the Randall House. Next year the organizers plan a bigger event, the Stories and Ink Expo, expected to draw upward of 60 authors to Prisma Health Performance Center.
